MURI is situated on the border of two states Jharkhand Bengal and on the border of four districts: Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Purulia and Singhbum. It has an important railway junction and an Aluminium factory with over a thousand labourers. It is a notified area. Ursuline English Medium School, Muri was established on 2nd June, 1972. The school is a Catholic Christain Minority Institution, managed by the local unit of the Congregation of Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk, Belgium. It is a co-educational day school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
The School introduced the Nursery class for the first time in the year 2023. Prior to that, it offered classes from K.G. I (L.K.G.) to class X.
